The Northwest Home Services Directory is a local directory of home service businesses in Chicago's northwest suburbs, built to answer one question well: who should a homeowner here actually call?

Every listing was verified by hand before it was published. Phone numbers and websites were checked against the business itself and against Google, and Google ratings and review counts are shown where they exist. Where sources disagreed, the listing carries a verification note saying so, rather than a confident guess.

50 of the 130 businesses in the directory were not found in a database at all. They were found in the recommendation threads of local Facebook groups, where neighbors in Arlington Heights, Palatine, Schaumburg, Mount Prospect, Buffalo Grove, Rolling Meadows, and Des Plaines named the pros they trust, some of them a dozen times over. Those listings show their referral counts.

Basic listings are free, forever. Businesses can claim a listing to correct its details, and Featured placement is offered at $49 per month for the badge and top placement. Homeowners never pay anything, and quote requests are free.

The directory is run by Ryan Drum, a Mortgage Loan Officer with NEXA Mortgage who works in these same neighborhoods. The mortgage section of the site exists because most people who are pricing a roof or a remodel are one step away from a bigger housing decision, and a local conversation beats a call center.
